We are excited to share updates with you on this site. Where we are right now is in research and planning mode. Our area of interest is recreating ancient cement formulations in the modern world. This is immensely exciting to us because we see a big problem with cement and the concrete industry currently. Regardless of which side of the fence you are on concerning climate change previously called global warming we do have to recognize that the government is imposing heavy tax on our industry in the name of preventing climate change.
The idea that really drives us is manufacturing a superior product. Roman cement has lasted 2000 years, why in modern times is Portland cement only have a life-cycle of 20 years? Some of the things that make these ancient concrete mixtures is interesting is that they last a long time, require no steel reinforcement (rebar), and creates less taxable carbon emissions. And in the case of AAC blocks, is 20% cheaper to manufacture, is 40% lighter and requires 30-35% less supporting steel when building. When combined with full plant automation, this creates a scalable process that ensures consistency and increased competitiveness by shrinking labor costs. Combined, we think these things are pretty neat.
Each material has its specific characteristics which we must understand if we want to use it. This is no less true of steel and concrete.
